A personal app for rheumatism patients

Nearly two million people in the Netherlands suffer from rheumatism. The disease encompasses more than a hundred chronic conditions that affect everyone differently. Together with Erasmus MC, we developed an app that is personalized for each patient.

An app to support people with rheumatism

Because rheumatism affects everyone differently and can have a major impact on daily life, personalized information, tips, and tools are essential. The Rheumatology Department of Erasmus MC wanted to create an app that provides exactly that.

Design & development

Tips, calendar, videos, and an info game

The Reuma App asks users questions about topics such as exercise, work, medication, and pain. Based on the answers, the app provides personalized information and advice. Patients can track their daily wellbeing in a medical logbook that helps reveal patterns and new insights.

As well as a calendar function that reminds users to take medication and attend appointments with their rheumatologist, the app also offers exercise videos to keep joints flexible and tutorials for making daily activities easier: such as wringing a cloth. For younger users, a playful in-app game explains how inflammatory rheumatism works.

Conclusie

Better control over rheumatism

Developed in collaboration with Erasmus MC, the app stands out for its user-friendliness and its strong foundation in scientific knowledge. It empowers patients with greater insight into their condition and helps them manage their symptoms more effectively.
