For patients with rheumatic conditions and IBD, gaining insight into their disease and communicating effectively with their healthcare provider is becoming increasingly important. Dawn Technology developed a tool that supports this process.
For these patient groups, various scientifically validated questionnaires already exist to support self-insight and the dialogue with their clinician. The challenge was to make these tools available in an accessible and efficient way, without adding extra burden for patients or healthcare professionals.
While waiting for their appointment, patients complete the validated questionnaires on the IMID Monitor through an intuitive touchscreen interface. The tool immediately calculates scores that provide insight into perceived disease burden, sense of control, and current disease status.
Clinicians can review these results ahead of the consultation, giving the conversation more focus and improving communication. All questionnaires and measurement instruments used in the tool are scientifically validated and widely accepted in medical practice.
The IMID Monitor creates an efficient and evidence-based way to measure patient experience and disease activity. This strengthens both patient self-management and the quality of the clinical consultation.
